Grand Master Michael Davis began training in the martial arts at age 11. He participated in various programs throughout his youth and continued through his college years. In 1990, he joined the Jungyae Martial Arts Academy of Kirkland, a martial arts school that incorporated numerous skills and techniques of self-defense from Korea, Japan, and China. He was personally trained by Grand Master Won Kuk Kim, the developer of this system. Upon earning his 1st degree black belt in 1994, he took over the Founder’s school and began his career as an instructor in the Jungyae system of martial arts, where he has continued developing and teaching the Jungyae system at the Jungyae Martial Arts Academy of Kirkland, WA.
Grand Master Davis was awarded his 8th-degree black belt on July 22nd, 2018, by Supreme Grand Master Bok Man Kim, the founder of Taekwondo. Grand Master Davis is honored to be affiliated with the World Chun Kuhn Taekwondo Federation.
Honoring the Jungyae system’s commitment to serving the community, he has hosted many fund-raising events over the years, raising thousands of dollars for different causes, including the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Erica Watt Leukemia fund, St. Jude’s Children Research Center, and the Children’s Hospital.
Having spent over 30 years instructing in the Jungyae system, Grand Master Davis continues to provide the greater Eastside with quality martial arts teaching. His program continues to develop students to reach their greatest potential and helps them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Jungyae Martial Arts is a private year-round institution offering classes to students from ages 5 to 65. The Academy is not affiliated with any school districts or their schedules.
